Council is supported by dedicated volunteers from the community who sit on advisory committees, boards, panels, and commissions.

North Shore Advisory Committee on Disability Issues

The North Shore Advisory Committee on Disability Issues provides a forum for discussion of issues affecting people with all types of disabilities. They formulate proposals, respond to requests, and make recommendations that will promote, develop, and sustain an accessible community.

North Shore Standing Committee on Substance Use

The North Shore Standing Committee on Substance Use supports community organizations to reduce the impact and incidence of substance abuse on the North Shore through advocacy, collaboration, and leadership.

North Vancouver District Public Library Board

Responsible for setting strategic priorities, developing policies, and developing a library budget for District Council, and reviewing their terms of reference, meeting minutes, and member information.

North Vancouver Museum and Archives Commission (NVMAC)

Develops and maintains museum and archives services to meet the needs and interests of public bodies, corporations, organizations and citizens. 

North Vancouver Policing Committee

Acts as an advisory committee providing advice and recommendations on policing matters to the District and City Councils and the RCMP Officer in Charge.

North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission

Plans, develops, evaluates, and jointly and seamlessly delivers an appropriate array of quality recreation services and arts services in both the District and City of North Vancouver.

Parks and Natural Environment Committee (PNEAC)

Provides an informed community perspective on parks and environmental issues, and fosters, promotes, enhances, and supports parks and environmental issues within the community.

Public Art Committee

The Public Art Advisory Committee develops policy, procedures, and recommendations for the implementation of a public art program for the District. The committee advises Council, the North Vancouver Office of Cultural Affairs, District staff, artists, and the public on the policies and procedures in terms of flexibility and adherence to accepted public art procedure.
