Gardening Day at Gerry's Garden
Come join us for something new: a day of gardening at the wonderful and inspiring Gerry’s Garden!
This garden was established by 96-year-old resident Gerry MacPherson in 2007, and has become an important focal point and gathering space for the community.
The garden lies on both City and District land within the Keith Lynn neighbourhood; we will be focusing on the portion that lies within the District land where the planting beds are in need of an overhaul.
Howard, one of the dedicated volunteers that has been gardening in this space for many years, has developed a plan for the day: to clear the beds of weeds, lay new soil, and plant new shrubs. It will be laborious but rewarding work!
What to bring
- gardening gloves (there will be extras on hand if needed)
- clothing appropriate for the work and weather (sunscreen and a hat encouraged!)
Important to know
Everyone is welcome, but do RSVP in advance so we know how many volunteers to expect:
