Upcoming road closures and restrictions on Mountain Highway at Thames Creek
We are working on Mountain Highway at Thames Creek (north of Borthwick Road) to increase capacity of the existing culvert.
Construction is expected to be completed in January 2018, but will be delayed in snowy or slippery road conditions.
This work will require some road closures on Mountain Highway, north of Borthwick Road, and restricted access to the Mt. Fromme parking lot. Pedestrian, bicycle, and emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout construction.
Upcoming road closures and single lane alternating traffic
December 5-10, 2017 — Single lane alternating traffic
Single lane alternating traffic is in effect daily between 7am and 6pm.
December 11-15, 2017 — Full road closure
Starting Monday, December 11 through Friday, December 15, Mountain Highway, north of Borthwick Road, will be fully closed.
December 18, 2017 onward — Single lane alternating traffic
Starting December 18, single lane alternating traffic will be in effect daily between 7am and 6pm, throughout the duration of the project.
Reducing the risks of flooding
This work is an important part of the recently completed debris basin at Thames Creek (at McNair Drive) and part of our strategy to prevent future damaging debris flow and floods.
