Councillor Jim Hanson
Jim Hanson is serving his first term as Councillor for the District of North Vancouver having been elected in November 2014.
Councillor Hanson is a practicing personal-injury lawyer in the City of North Vancouver at Hanson and Company. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1985 and holds law degrees from the University of British Columbia and Wadham College, Oxford, UK. He is an elected Governor of the Trial Lawyers’ Association of British Columbia.
Councillor Hanson was born in Lions Gate Hospital in 1961 and grew up in the Blueridge neighbourhood, graduating from Windsor Secondary in 1979. He lives in the Blueridge neighbourhood today with this wife Ruth and their children Robert and Elizabeth. Both of Councillor Hanson’s parents live on the North Shore.
In his free time, Councillor Hanson enjoys running in the many trails of North Vancouver District, boating, salmon fishing and skiing.
