Programs and rebates for conserving water

Our water conservation initiatives put us one step closer to achieving our Official Community Plan goal of environmental sustainability. We offer programs and rebates designed to help promote water conservation throughout the District.

Rebates for more efficient appliances

You can reduce the amount of energy and water your standard clothes washer uses by upgrading it to a new, energy-efficient model.

Rebates for more efficient toilets

Toilets can account for up to 30% of your indoor water use. Replace your 13L (or greater) toilet with a 4.8L (or less) toilet and qualify for a $50 rebate.

This rebate program will end on December 31, 2016. To qualify for your rebate, please purchase an eligible toilet and submit your application by the end of the year.

Reduce your lawn sprinkling

During the warm summer months our water consumption nearly doubles thanks to outdoor water use. Help us conserve water during these high-use months by reducing the amount of lawn sprinkling you do and by following Metro Vancouver's lawn sprinkling regulations (in effect from June 1 to September 30).

A healthy lawn only needs one hour of sprinkling per week.
