Overheight/overweight vehicle permit
You need a permit for any vehicle that exceeds its licensed gross vehicle weight (GVW).
We will permit sizes and loads that exceed certain legal limits, providing they do not damage street and structures, and do not interfere seriously with the traffic flow.
You are responsible for any damage to District facilities as a result of overweight or oversize loads.
Legal load sizes
- The width can not exceed 8' 6" (up to 10' feet for loads of loose straw, etc)
- The height can not exceed 13' 6"
- The length can not exceed 60' overall for a combination of vehicles
- Overhanging loads cannot exceed 15' at the rear, measured from the centre of rear axle, or 3 feet beyond the front bumper
