Capilano watermain replacement project - traffic detours begin Sept. 8

Construction will take place from summer 2015 to summer 2016

Metro Vancouver is relocating and replacing an aging and seismically vulnerable watermain pipe beneath Capilano Road. This pipe delivers drinking water from the Seymour and Capilano watersheds to residents and businesses on the North Shore and across the region.

Construction and installation of the pipe begins in August 2015.

Are you planning a construction project in this area?

Construction projects often need to temporarily block a road, lane, parking lane, sidewalk or boulevard for site access and to park equipment. Before you can block any of these areas you must apply for and receive a street use permit.

During construction of the Capilano Watermain, traffic will be rerouted onto local streets. Street use permits for work that may affect traffic flow on those streets will not be issued.
