Construction for TransLink RapidBus route through the District
We're working with TransLink and our neighbouring municipalities to plan and design the Marine Drive RapidBus route, formerly known as the Marine-Main B-Line.
Launching between February and April 2020, the RapidBus is a high-frequency, limited stop bus service that will run from Phibbs Exchange to West Vancouver.
The following construction work is taking place in preparation for implementation of the service.
August - November 2019 — Main St from Lynn Ave to Mountain Highway
Overnight construction is taking place along Main St from Lynn Ave to Mountain Highway and includes:
- New traffic signals at the intersections of Lynn Ave, Harbour Ave, and Mountain Highway
- Changes to curbs, including removal and pouring new concrete
- Line painting
- New bus lanes
Construction hours
Work will take place intermittently from late August to late November:
- Nights — Monday to Friday
- Times — 7:30pm to 5am
August - October 2019 — Oxford St and Phibbs Exchange
The following work is being completed along Oxford St and at Phibbs Exchange:
- Modifying three bus bays and removing median at Main St to accommodate left-hand turns for buses
- Relocating pedestrian crossing at Phibbs Exchange
- Installing temporary bus stops and sidewalks on Oxford St
- Temporary removal of parking in southeast portion of Oxford St
Construction hours
Work will take place during the day from late August to late October.
Starting on September 10 for approximately one week, overnight work will occur Monday - Friday nights, between 7:30pm and 5am.
June - August 2019 — Capilano Rd to Pemberton Ave
Overnight construction is taking place along Marine Dr from Capilano Rd to Pemberton Ave and includes:
- New bus stop shelters
- Changes to the curbs, including the removal and pouring of new concrete
- Removal of existing road material and pouring of concrete at new B-Line bus stops
- Line painting
Construction hours
Work will take place intermittently between June and August:
- Nights — Monday to Friday
- Times — 8pm to 6am
