District Hall closed Oct 2 for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On Monday, October 2, 2023, District Hall will be closed for business to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This new federal statutory holiday is to commemorate the survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities and the children who never returned home.

We are observing this day as part of our ongoing commitment to truth and reconciliation. We encourage everyone to take time to learn and reflect on the history and ongoing legacy of the residential school system and to honour those who were and continue to be affected by it.

The District is committed to implementing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action specific to municipalities. Learn more about our journey towards reconciliation

As we observe this day of commemoration, we will only be offering limited services and there will be no waste collection. As with all statutory holidays, collection days will be pushed forward one day for all zones.
