North Shore Fire Chiefs lift ban on barbecues in local parks

Heavy rain and cooler temperatures have reduced fire risk dramatically over the last few days. As a result, the North Shore's three Fire Chiefs have lifted the ban on barbecues in  local parks, and smoking on trails and in parks. While these bans are now lifted, the Chiefs urge smokers to continue to take great care with their cigarettes and ensure proper disposal.

The Chiefs extend their thanks to the public for their help in ensuring the safety of our forests and parks again wildfires this summer by obeying bans, using extreme caution and being their eyes and ears in the community.
