Crews from DNVFRS have extinguished the fire in Lynn Canyon.

DNVFRS crews remained on the scene and put out hot spots until noon today. The Sea to Sky trail has been reopened.

The fire was first reported on Monday night, with DNVFRS and Metro Crews responding quickly to suppress it.

Please note that forests across our region remain extremely dry and vulnerable, and we are asking the public to be cautious and vigilant when using our parks, trails and forests.

If you spot a wildfire, immediately report it by calling 9-1-1.

[8am]

On Monday night, District of North Vancouver Fire & Rescue crews responded to a wildfire burning in Lynn Canyon near the Sea to Sky Trail.

DNVFRS and Metro Vancouver crews quickly suppressed the fire, and it is now considered "held," meaning it is not growing.

There is no public safety risk at this time. Due to this fire, the Sea to Sky Trail is closed between Inter River Park and the Baden Powell Trail south of Twin Falls Bridge. We ask the public to avoid this area so fire crews can do their work.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
