DNV recognizes National Indigenous Peoples Day

Today, the DNV recognizes National Indigenous Peoples Day and honours the culture and history of  local First Nations, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and all Indigenous communities.

In 2020, we created a temporary pedestrian zone on lower Gallant Avenue to provide more space for gathering safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Provincial and federal governments provide funding for Deep Cove village improvements

Today, the governments of Canada and British Columbia announced a $3.3 million investment towards improvements to Deep Cove’s village core along lower Gallant Avenue. The funding come through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program’s COVID-19 Community Resilience stream. Read the press release 

Funding for new affordable housing secured for District

BC Housing has announced that the proposal for an 86-unit, four-storey affordable rental building at 600 West Queens in the District of North Vancouver has been approved to receive a grant from its Community Housing Fund.

North Shore Homelessness Action Initiative

The recently launched North Shore Homelessness Action Initiative (NSHAI) is a cross-jurisdictional committee created to enhance coordination across the North Shore with the goal of preventing and alleviating homelessness in our communities.
