A heat warning is in effect, and the fire danger rating is extreme

About the heat warning

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the North Shore.

Maximum temperatures will reach the upper twenties near the water and the low to mid thirties inland. Overnight minimums will only recover to the mid to upper teens.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

About the fire danger rating

A reminder that the wildfire danger is also at Extreme. All open fires, BBQs (charcoal and propane), and smoking are banned in District parks and trails.
