Following guidance from the province's Restart BC Plan and new health and safety regulations from WorkSafeBC, we are taking all necessary steps to protect public health and maintain the safety of our employees.
Provincial election sign regulations
With the provincial election taking place fall 2020, there are different rules and regulations for displaying election signs.
Regulations in the District of North Vancouver
In the District, you are not permitted to place election signs in the following locations:
- Utility poles
- On or in front of District flower or shrub beds
- Highway medians
- Highway within 100 m of District Municipal Hall
All signs must be removed within eight days of voting day. Signs placed in prohibited areas may be removed by an enforcement officer.
Elections BC regulations
Elections BC governs the regulations for signage during all provincial elections. Political signs displayed outside of local election periods are not regulated by Elections Canada.
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure regulations
The Ministry of Transportation oversees regulations for election and referendum signs on highway rights-of-way.
