Updates to home energy rebates and support services

Changes are coming to the municipal top-up program.
Up to $11,000 in rebates is currently available from the federal and provincial governments to support heat pumps. Given the availability of these rebates, we are making changes to municipal top-top rebates to focus support on areas where senior government rebates are limited.
- Municipal top-up rebates for heat pumps will no longer be offered for installations completed after September 30, 2023.
- Municipal are now available for electric service upgrades when converting from a fossil fuel heating system and for heat pump water heaters.
To address emerging barriers to home electrification and support continued progress towards our climate action goals, additional support services are now being offered by energy experts to help homeowners make home energy upgrades.
