Wildfire emergency exercises

On April 30 and May 2, North Shore Emergency Managment (NSEM) is conducting emergency exercises in Kilmer Creek Park in North Vancouver, and Cypress Falls Park in West Vancouver.

Do not be alarmed. This is practice to help better prepare for real emergencies.

What to expect on April 30

If you live in the Kilmer Creek Park area, you may receive a knock on your door from a uniformed police or bylaws officer on April 30 between 8:45am and 12:30pm. The objective of this exercise is to practice evacuation notification during an emergency, such as a wildfire.

What to expect on May 2

On May 2, you may notice activity that includes emergency response vehicles and a helicopter. The objective of this exercise is to practice emergency response to a wildfire. Please avoid the area around Kilmer Creek Park between 8:30am and 12:30pm.
