Bus permit (Deep Cove and Lynn Canyon)
We prohibit large buses with more than 24 seats from accessing parts of our busiest tourist areas, in order to minimize traffic congestion and keep streets safe.
Here are the rules for buses with a gross vehicle weight of 8,850kg or more. Bus operators who do not observe these rules are subject to a fine of up to $500 per infraction.
Buses are prohibited from traveling north on Deep Cove Road, from stopping or parking anywhere in Deep Cove village, and from stopping or parking on surrounding neighbourhood streets.
Buses are prohibited from entering the west parking lot at Lynn Canyon, and they are not permitted to stop or park on surrounding neighbourhood streets west of the park entrance.
Large buses may use the east parking lot located off the northern end of Lillooet Road near the Lower Seymour Conservation Area.
Exemptions for school groups, non-profit organizations, and approved community events
Buses for schools, non-profit groups, and DNV approved community events are still allowed, but you are required to get a permit in advance. Note that, due to capacity limitations, we can only issue a limited number of permits per day, and they are issued on a first come, first served basis. We are able to accommodate a maximum of three buses at any one time.
