COVID-19 safety plan

This safety plan protects District employees from exposure to COVID–19 at work, by assessing risk and implementing protocols, and through the development and implementation of safe work procedures. 

The Workers Compensation Act requires us to establish occupational health and safety policies and programs in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, and WorkSafeBC has directed us to develop a plan to ensure that the risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 at our workplaces is minimized.

Under Provincial Health Officer orders, we have posted copies of this plan here on our website, and at our facilities, so that it is readily available for review by workers, those who may come to our workplace to provide services, and members of the public.

Who this plan is for

This safety plan applies to all employees, Mayor and Council, and anyone interacting with municipal staff or attending our facilities, including parks, green spaces, and all work sites.

It provides an overview of our risk mitigation procedures and general safety precautions, protocols, and guidelines.
