Proposed emergency staging area in Indian Arm

To enhance our ability to respond to wildfires and other critical incidents that may occur in the Indian Arm communities of Woodlands, Sunshine Falls, and Cascades, we propose creating an emergency staging area at the junction of Sunshine Falls Lane and Sasamat Lane.

The proposed emergency staging area (see map below) would provide a strategic base for the seasonal deployment of our wildfire response trailer and other firefighting equipment.

In addition, this centralized site puts in place much-needed permanent infrastructure that all first responders and partner agencies can use should another emergency such as a flood or landslide occur in this difficult-to-access area.

Approximately 40-50 second-growth trees would be removed in order to create the emergency staging location. We will make every effort to limit the visual impact and preserve the natural look of the area.

We would like your feedback on this proposed staging area. To provide input, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
