2. Find a location

3. Check zoning and required permits
Zoning check
When you find a potential location (or locations) for your business, but before you take possession of the space, contact us to make sure that the type of business you are proposing would be allowed under our Zoning Bylaw.

Permit requirements
- Building renovations — If you need to alter or change your building, you may need a building permit and related trades permits. Contact us to discuss your commercial renovation project and potential permit requirements. Email building@dnv.org or call 604.990.2480.
- Signs — If you want to install a sign for your business, you need to apply for a sign permit. If you need help, email signs@dnv.org.
