Councillor Mathew Bond

Mathew Bond is serving his first term on North Vancouver District Council.

Councillor Bond is a Professional Engineer with seven years of experience working with transportation systems. He pursues his passion for innovative and practical initiatives to improve transportation, cities and sustainability through a commitment to life-long learning.

In addition to a BASc, he has completed a Certificate in Sustainable Community Development and is completing a Certificate in Next-Generation Transportation and Cities. He is also an SFU Radius Fellow, mentoring future generations of changemakers and social innovators in the Lower Mainland.

As a proud newcomer to North Vancouver, Councillor Bond has spent thousands of hours volunteering in the community. From 2008 to 2013, Councillor Bond was the President of the North Shore Mountain Bike Association.

He continues to be an avid mountain biker and outdoor enthusiast, enjoying all the natural beauty the North Shore has to offer. He and his wife Michelle celebrated the birth of their first child in his first year on Council.
