North Shore Culture Days, September 25, 26, and 27

Culture Days is an annual Canada-wide celebration of arts, culture and heritage where the public is invited to experience a wide range of creative activities. Culture Days is an opportunity to try something new — to play the musical instrument of your dreams, sing Broadway show tunes with a really big choir, attend an artist talk, roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty at any number of hands-on workshops.

Metro Vancouver returns water restrictions to Stage Two

Thanks to the recent increase in rain, combined with reduced demand due to Stage 3 restrictions, Metro Vancouver has returned watering restrictions to Stage 2.

Metro Vancouver is relocating and replacing an aging and seismically vulnerable watermain pipe beneath Capilano Road.

Audit: District protects taxpayer interests with sound processes and controls

A performance audit report released last week by the Auditor General for Local Government of British Columbia (AGLG) found that the District has strong stewardship over our capital asset management practices and capital procurement processes, protects the interests of taxpayers, and ensures value for money in our activities.

Nancy Greene Way bike lanes now complete

The new bike lanes along Nancy Greene Way have been completed. We added an uphill dedicated bike lane, and a downhill shared bike lane, between Prospect Avenue and Grousewoods Drive (south), to help cyclists reach Grouse Mountain, a prime recreation area. 

Fromme Mountain recreational parking and staging area is now open

The new parking lot and staging area for Mount Fromme trail users is complete.

We're going door-to-door counting dogs
